Despite its various negative effects on human beings and their environment, carbon emission is always on increase and causes damages to human life, destruction of environment and loss of life as well. It is also observed that more than 95% of smallholder dry season farmers in Nigeria use petrol polluting engine to
irrigate their farms; either because of lack of exposure to using solar pump
and or inability to afford it.
In light of this, PM and Energy Assured are working together to engage and create awareness for all year round smallholder farmers on using alternative, cheaper, accessible, easy to use and environmentally friendly solar pump in Adamawa State through service provision model to help them increase in production and avoid using expensive petrol polluting engine.

LOCATION
The following location have been selected for this pilot project of service provision model: Kikan-Numan, Fufore, Chikito-Fufore and Yola South
THE OBJECTIVE
The project is going to identify, reach and engage 10 marketers/farm technicians and 5 lead farmers, who will conduct promotional activities/awareness campaign on the benefit of using solar pump instead of petrol consuming generators. Our goals are to reach 1750 direct beneficiaries-smallholder farmers including disable farmers, women farmers and internally displaced farmers subscribe to service provision model with awareness about alternative renewable energy source & its cost and benefit, sustainable environment, global warming and climate change issues.
What is the project about?
PM and Energy Assured have teamed up together to engage 1750 smallholder farmers to be informed and subscribed to alternative solar pump rental services in Adamawa State and expose them to better understand the effects of using polluting engine and other climate issues.
